Education / Space and science draws crowds to Scalloway
UHI Shetland and Dynamic Earth hosted a busy space-related activity day in Scalloway earlier today (Saturday).
The event at UHI’s Scalloway campus was designed to engage and entertain families in all things space and science, and more than 300 people joined in.
Attendees had the opportunity to explore a range of interactive exhibits, providing a hands-on experience, while there were also workshops led by educators and astronomers.
But the jewel in the crown perhaps were the sold-out inflatable planetarium shows which gave people a trip through space.
Professor Jane Lewis, principal and CEO of UHI Shetland, said: “We are thrilled to see the incredible turnout for the ‘Shetland to the Stars Free Family Fun Day’.
“The event’s success is a testament to the community’s passion for science education and their eagerness to participate in fun, educational activities together,” she said.
