Police are also making enquiries into two break-ins in Lerwick
POLICE are making enquiries after a vehicle travelling on the A970 near Frakkafield was damaged by a large piece of metal on the road.
The incident happened on Tuesday morning at around 10.40am.
Police sergeant Victoria Duthie said officers were particularly interested in speaking to the driver of a lorry carrying a skip while heading north from Lerwick on A970 just past the three lanes, or any person having seen this vehicle in the area.
The lorry is described as having a white cab with the lower part being dark blue and the main structure being dark blue.
The lorry was carrying a skip with netting covering the opening of the skip.
Anyone able to help police with their investigations is asked to contact them on telephone 101 or to call along Lerwick police station. Alternatively, people can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555111 anonymously.
Meanwhile, police are also appealing for any information in connection with a break-ins in the town.
- Power tools were stolen from to a shed in Robertson Crescent between late evening of Monday 20 September and mid-afternoon the following day;
- And a bicycle was stolen from a shed in Robertson Lane sometime between Thursday 16 September and Tuesday this week. A photo of the bike can be seen below.
Any information should be passed to Lerwick police on the numbers mentioned earlier quoting incident number (NL/850/21) and (NL/853/21).
