NEARLY 35 properties lost power this afternoon (Wednesday) in Gulberwick and Quarff due to a faulty transformer.
SSEN hopes to restore full supply to all properties by 7pm following repairs.
A spokesperson said: “We’d like to sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused by today’s fault and thank the local community for their patience as our teams work to restore supplies as quickly as possible.
“If anyone requires further assistance, please call us on our power cut helpline, 105.”
SHETLAND Bird Club’s autumn talk will see naturalist Jon Dunn discuss his new book The Glitter in the Green: in the Search of Hummingbirds.
The event will take place at Islesburgh in Lerwick on Tuesday 7 October at 7pm.
All are welcome and there is a £3 fee for non-members.
A blurb for the book says with “great passion for his subject and a taste for adventure, Dunn transports us to wondrous landscapes from Alaska to Tierra del Fuego, and invites us into the kaleidoscopic world of the hummingbird”.
THE COUNCIL’s trading standards and environmental health teams both recently moved offices from the former Anderson High School.

MEANWHILE it is that time of the year again – time for the council’s winter ferry timetable.
The timetable kicks in on 4 October and it will run to 1 May. It can be accessed via this link.
THE SKERRIES ferry service has suffered some disruption after the Filla had to be taken out of service for repairs.
She is expected to be out of action for the rest of the week, with the Hendra drafted in to assist.
