BBC Filming / Museum to close to allow for crime drama filming
SHETLAND Museum and Archives will be closed from Saturday (29 May) to next Thursday (3 June) inclusive to allow filming for the Shetland crime drama to take place in and around the building.
Local location manager Davie Gardner said: “This is quite a complex piece of filming and, in turn, we have to ‘dress’ the museum accordingly to meet our specific needs and also to address all safety related requirements.
“Additionally, to help with the safe parking of our technical support vehicles, we have requested, and been granted, exclusive use of the museums car park for those days, plus the parking space currently available to them on Gutters Gaet adjacent to and immediately behind the museum.”
“Sincere apologies for any inconvenience or disappointment this may cause, but we hope that apart from being a great location to film in for this series and its storyline, it will also help to effectively promote the Shetland Museum & Archives to a much wider audience too.”
The closure comes in agreement with operator Shetland Amenity Trust.
Gardner thanked the community for its co-operation, but said anyone with specific issues can contact him via Facebook or on 07867 654 509.
The production team is returning to the isles after filming pieces for the new series in April.
