Community / Bressay Up Helly Aa postponed
THE BRESSAY Up Helly Aa has become the latest fire festival to postpone its 2021 event by a year.
Its committee said on Sunday: “The Bressay Up Helly Aa committee regretfully announce the postponement of the 2021 Bressay Up Helly Aa.
“Given the ongoing uncertainties surrounding the global coronavirus pandemic, we have taken the unanimous decision to postpone the festival for a year, in the hope we can return to a more normal way of life in time for the 2022 event.”
The 2021 Scalloway, Lerwick and Nesting/Girlsta fire festivals have already been postponed.
