Education / Anderson High School to close for two days after damage to window
THE ANDERSON High School will be closed to pupils on Thursday (19 September) and Friday (20 September) to allow repair work to be carried out on a “high level window” in the central part of the building which has sustained damage.
Head teacher Valerie Nicolson said in a letter to parents and carers that Shetland Islands Council wished to apologise for the disruption caused at the Lerwick school.
Secondary four, five and six pupils have been told to refer to their course materials for revision, while S1, S2 and S3 pupils should complete any homework tasks.
Nicolson also said that pupils attending college courses on Friday should attend as normal.
It is understood that one possible cause for the damage is birds dropping stones on the window.
