Letters / Guilty as charged
Alistair Carmichael’s attempts to distance himself from the government and its policies are quite amusing. He is listed as the Deputy Chief Whip (Comptroller of HM Household) on the all government departments and their ministers’ page of the No 10 government website.
As whip he is the government enforcer of government policy, his job is to get reluctant MPs to toe the party line and vote through government policy. Very much guilty as charged!
Yours sincerely
