Emergency services / Sandwick and Brae crews called to Lerwick fire
FIRE fighters from Sandwick and Brae were called to a property in the Sound area of Lerwick on Wednesday afternoon to what was described by fire control as a minor fire.
Meanwhile, at the same time an appliance from the Lerwick fire station had been called to BBC Radio Shetland where a fire alarm had gone off during a routine maintenance check.
Asked why crews from Sandwick and Brae were called to the scene of the fire, a spokesperson for fire control in Dundee said the Lerwick station was not available.
The call to Sandwick and Brae came in at 1.44pm.
