News / Reduced ferry service next year as vessels enter dry dock
THE FERRY service between Shetland and Aberdeen will be reduced in February and March while the MV Hjaltland and MV Hrossey go into dry dock for scheduled maintenance.
The route will be reduced to a single vessel service between 2-18 February and 9-25 March.
Freight connections will be continued with additional sailings of MV Helliar and MV Hildasay.
The dry dock timetable can be viewed online here.
Serco’s managing director at NorthLink Ferries Stuart Garrett said that the company has “worked hard to minimise the impact of the maintenance programme on passengers”.
NorthLink, meanwhile, has warned passengers that Wednesday’s northbound and southbound sailings could be cancelled due to the weather.
The MV Hjaltland is also now due to depart Lerwick three hours early on Tuesday at 4pm.
