Transport / Bressay ferry service disrupted after engine trouble
FERRY services to Bressay were suspended earlier this morning (Wednesday) following a technical problem.
The Hendra has been sent to cover the route, meaning that the Whalsay service has been reduced to a single vessel as a result.
This is because the relief vessel Fivla is in dry dock.
At 11am the Hendra was still making its way to Bressay Sound.
The disruption was caused following an engine fault on the Bressay ferry Leirna.
Engineers are currently investigating the source of the problem.
Bookings on the Whalsay route are currently suspended.
