Council / Sandwater road reopens after repairs to bridge
FOLLOWING repairs to the parapet of the bridge across the Burn of Pettawater the B9075 Weisdale to Sandwater road is now open again.
Shetland Islands Council had to close the road on Monday afternoon in the interest of public safety following reports of damage to the bridge.
The closure resulted in disruptions to some elements of the Viking Energy wind farm construction works.
The council said on Wednesday morning: “The road is now open again to through traffic in both directions via Kergord.
“Shetland Islands Council would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
