Business / Sauerkraut entrepreneur scoops national award
A FOOD entrepreneur from Shetland who recently appeared on TV show Dragons’ Den has beaten off competition from a supermarket chain to win a national award.
Evonne Morrison, from Weisdale, scooped the Relishes and Chutneys prize at the Quality Food and Drink Awards in London on Friday (22 November).
Her company Good Nude Food picked up the award for its turmeric and ginger sauerkraut, triumphing over a caramelised onion and balsamic vinegar chutney from supermarket chain Aldi.
The Quality Food and Drink Awards, now in its 40th year, is said to be the “most prestigious award for food and drink products on sale in UK grocery outlets”.
Morrison recently appeared on BBC TV show Dragons’ Den, although the panel of investors decided against committing funds to the company.
