Emergency services / Creel boat escorted to Scalloway
THE AITH lifeboat is escorting the wooden creel boat Scotties Pride to Scalloway after the nine metre vessel with one person on board hit rocks off St Ninian’s Isle earlier this morning (Thursday).
The lifeboat arrived at the scene at around 11.30am to find Scotties Pride alongside the fish carrier Ronja Carrier which had been in the vicinity and responded to the call for help.
The lifeboat put one crew member and pump on board the Scotties Pride to keep her afloat while making it back to port on her own steam.
Both vessels are expected to alongside at Scalloway Harbour at around 2pm.
