Emergency services / Car crash in Cunningsburgh
EMERGENCY services attended a two-vehicle car accident in Cunningsburgh this morning (Thursday).
The accident happened on the A970 near the Aithsetter junction shortly before midday.
Three people were already outside the vehicles when fire and ambulance crews arrived, and they were passed into the care of the ambulance service.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said three fire appliances attended.
“We were alerted at 11.58am on Thursday, April 22 to reports of a two-vehicle collision on the A970 at Cunningsburgh, Shetland,” they said.
“Operations control immediately mobilised three appliances to the scene.
“On arrival of fire fighters, the three female occupants were outside the vehicles and were passed to the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service.
“Crews left the scene after ensuring the area was made safe.”
