Arts / Sermanni and Drever on line-up as touring show heads north for three dates
A TRIO of events featuring music, poetry and spoken word are set to take place at Mareel next year as part of a touring show.
Featuring on the line-up of James Yorkston’s Tae Sup Wi’ A Fifer shows are local favourites Kris Drever and Rachel Sermanni, as well as Super Furry Animals’ Gruff Rhys.
The first gig will take place at Mareel on 3 February and it will feature Drever, Sermanni and spoken word artist and writer Salena Godden.
On 22 July Gruff Rhys will return to Shetland, with the musician due to be joined by piper Brighde Chaimbeul.
The final event, on 22 September, will see indie-rock folk-punk musician and comic book artist Jeffrey Lewis take to the Mareel stage.
Fife folk musician Yorkston will also appear at the shows as the host.
Tae Sup Wi’ A Fifer is a club night hosted and programmed by Yorkston which is based at the Adam Smith Theatre, Kirkcaldy.
During the pandemic it transformed into a series of online shows.
But with live music back on the agenda, it is being taken out on the road as a series of tours around intimate venues in Scotland.
Tickets for all three events are on sale now.
