Transport / Windy weather prompts suspension of inter-island ferry services
The NorthLink ferry service is also set to experience delays
THE YELL Sound, Bluemull Sound and Whalsay ferry services are being suspended today (Friday) due to the windy weather.
Due to the forecast the next review of the Bluemull Sound service will be 5pm.
Today’s Skerries service has also been cancelled due to the weather.
All flights at Tingwall Airport are on weather hold, with a further update due at 12.30pm.
On the NorthLink ferry service tonight the southbound sailing may be up to two hours late in leaving Lerwick, causing knock-on delays to the arrivals in Kirkwall and Aberdeen.
