Coronavirus / New Covid death reported in daily figures
ANOTHER death of a person who had confirmed Covid has been registered in Shetland.
It was included in today’s (Tuesday) Public Health Scotland update. Data shows the death was registered on 11 February.
The Public Health Scotland statistics include people who died within 28 days of their first confirmed report of Covid-19.
Meanwhile another high number of new Covid cases have been confirmed in Shetland.
A total of 95 cases have been newly reported. Shetland’s current seven-day rate per 100,000 population is a record 2,147, but this does not include the most recent cases.
This rate is nearly three times the national average, with NHS Shetland previously attributing this to more people doing lateral flow tests, folk being less strict with rules and more indoor socialising in the winter.
Across Scotland just over 5,800 new cases have been reported.
